Panel discussion "Standing strong together"
As an industry we are facing collective challenges such as sustainability, digitalisation and a shifting consumer demand. How can we strengthen one another across the supply chain? What does it require from us as entrepeneurs, as a sector and as a society? Where do the opportunities lie if we truly collaborate? (Panel soon to be accounced)
Keynote: Paul Iske
Paul Iske, founder of the Institute for Brilliant Failures, shares a compelling message about recognising and harnessing failures as valuable learning moments within innovation processes. He advocates for a culture where mistakes are not hidden but rather analysed and shared to pave the way for future success.
He highlights that innovation often fails due to poor timing, lack of support, or insufficient collaboration. By understanding this complexity, and learning from shared missteps, we can foster stronger cooperation throughout the supply chain.

Digital platform of the future
What happens to your company on the dark web? Find out on the Day of the Cooperative!
Together with Tom Leijte, CEO of Passguard
Think cybercrime only targets big companies? Think again. In this session, you’ll discover how your business data could end up on the dark web. Tom Leijte will demonstrate a live dark web scan, explain why the floriculture sector is a target, and share practical tips to protect yourself, such as Multi-Factor Authentication and the Royal FloraHolland Cyber Subscription. We’ll also compare Floriday, our transparent digital marketplace, with the dark web’s criminal counterpart: invisible, unethical, and designed for illicit trade.
This session is for all growers affiliated with Royal FloraHolland.
Why participate?
- Gain immediate insights and actionable steps
- Support not only yourself, but fellow growers
- Strengthen the sector’s overall digital resilience
- And above all: it promises to be a fun and fascinating session!
Image and Reputation Management
The floriculture sector has been under pressure for quite some time. Public debate continues hovering around topics such as the use of crop protection and pesticides. Municipalities are refusing to buy bouquets, and even the question whether we really do need this much greenhouse horticulture in the Netherlands?
In response, Royal FloraHolland, together with the sector has launched various initiatives and communication strategies aimed at shaping reputation and public image. These efforts are being embraced both within the organization and across the industry. Growers and members are encouraged to increase transparency, collect data, and truly “practice what you preach.”
What can we do as a sector and how do we do it the most credible and trustworthy manner? Join the interactive workshop led by The Terrace to explore these questions and discover practical approaches to reputation management in horticulture.

Business Succession
The ornamental horticulture sector is renowned for its craftsmanship, innovation, and family businesses that have often been active for generations. But how do we ensure that family successions are handled smoothly and respectfully?
In this relaxed and interactive session—organized together with the FloraHolland Youth Council—we’ll explore the emotional and practical dynamics of family business transitions through a playful game element. Gain insight into the interests, expectations, and emotions of others involved in succession, and discover how open dialogue can pave the way for successful handovers.
This session is ideal for growers considering a generational transition or those already navigating the process.
New Ornamental Horticulture Trend Report
As a cooperative, we don’t just want to know what’s happening in the sector—we especially want to understand what matters to you as a grower. Which trends do you see emerging? What challenges do you face in practice? And where do you think the bottlenecks lie?
This autumn, we surveyed growers and buyers for our second Ornamental Horticulture Trend Report—a barometer that provides insight into current developments within the sector. We’ll present the report during the Day of the Cooperative. In this workshop, we’ll dive deeper into the results together.
Why participate?
- You’ll gain insight into the most up-to-date barometer of the present and future of the ornamental horticulture sector.
- Clarity and answers on the opportunities and challenges within our industry.
- You’ll get a clear picture of a sector in transition—taking steps forward.

Advocacy in the Ornamental Horticulture Sector
In this session, participants will gain insight into how we, on behalf of Royal FloraHolland, advocate for the interests of the ornamental horticulture sector with policymakers and government bodies. Using current topics such as energy, water, logistics, and international trade, we’ll demonstrate how policy decisions can impact our sector—and how we, as cooperatives, anticipate and respond to these developments.
It promises to be a valuable gathering for anyone interested in understanding the influence of politics and policy on both today’s practices and the future of our industry.
